Canon PowerShot G1 X – If you are a photography lover, a word Canon should not be a strange word for you to recognize. Yes, Canon is a camera branding mark that is very popular in photography’s world. And now, Canon released their new pocket camera called Canon PowerShot G1 X. Why in the world that Canon released a pocket camera instead of mirrorless camera which is so happening these days? Well, we actually do not really know why but this Canon PowerShot G1 X has an extra big censor, actually, it really is big for a pocket camera that has an attached lenses. Canon PowerShot G1 X has an identical shape like the former one Powershot G12 but it indeed has a great deal of different in its censorship.
Canon PowerShot G1 X even has a bigger body than most of mirrorless camera. If we have a look at the censorship size of Canon PowerShot G1 X, it has a bigger one than Four Thirds of Olympus and Panasonic. It actually has a little bit smaller than APS-C censor which is 1.5 inch diagonal. As a camera with an attached lenses, the Canon PowerShot G1 X maker have to fight harder to look for the best combination between the size and also the focal of the lenses especially on its aperture. It might be because of the small censor that a pocket camera usually have so that it might be harder to keep it great with that big censor size of a pocket camera.
This big censor size of Canon PowerShot G1 X brings positive and negative effect. The positive side is clearly that the result of your image capturing will be clear from noise at all with the usage of a greater ISO like a usual DSLR camera. It looks like Canon really wanted to show to the world that if they wanted to make a great image capturing, they do not have to buy a DSLR or a mirrorles camera and then invest through a various kind of expensive lenses.

Trying to find a great HD webcam, but don’t like to spend a lot of cash? The $39.95 Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 tries to provide a great deal of the same high-definition goodness as the LifeCam Studio ($99, 4 stars), but at less than half the price. For the basics, the HD-3000 works, though in case your laptop already have one built-in, this webcam isn’t a reasonable upgrade.
To start using it, you will need Windows 7, Vista, or XP (with Service Pack 2), and at least a dual-core Intel PC running at 1.6GHz or higher. 720p video requires a 3GHz dual-core Intel PC and 2GB of RAM. As with all of Microsoft webcams, the HD-3000 combines with Windows Live apps; the installer asks you to install Windows Live Messenger, Photo Gallery, and Movie Maker. For this review, I stuck with the included Microsoft LifeCam software. For video calling, the HD-3000 works with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and Skype, you will only getting VGA resolution (640-by-480-pixel) all over video calls, however.
The included LifeCam apps is easy to work with. A slide-out holder on the right has a bunch of live video effects and many of configurable settings. The 3D effects are cute, but ultimately worthless; in my exams, switching any of them on triggered a several-second lag between my action and the video response, despite my test system’s Intel Core i7 PC’s high-end AMD Radeon HD 5870 video card. The Configuration settings page is very useful: Here you can easily adjust brightness, photo as well as camcorder resolution, microphone volume, image flicker, and digital zoom adjustments (such as most webcams, there’s no optical zoom). There are application pan and tilt controls, but because there are no actual motors on the HD-3000, the settings only work if you have already zoomed in digitally. You will be able to record 16:9 widescreen video in 720p for up to 30 frames per second and also share it via Messenger, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Regarding audio, the Lifecam provides a built-in, uni-directional noise-canceling microphone. An examination video clip recording confirmed that the noise suppression fails to work properly; an office fan was heard clearly on the background during the whole recording. And also, the audio was a bit distorted at the default configurations, even though I do not speak out very loudly and kept about two feet away from the microphone. Switching down input obtain helped with the noise issues.

SAMSUNG C6730W – Best Overall Value

amsung’s l.330W. 7.l-channel system includes a sleek Blu-ray receiver that boasts super-sharp HD images and attractive tallboy speakers with stylishly ripped-open innards. Audio quality may lack the clarity and control of the Oh and Onkyo systems but it’s no sonic slouch and the spec sheet is a home cinema A to Z – DLNA networking. USB playback. wireless rear speakers. built-in Wi-Fi. dual HDMI inputs and extensive format support i-the only thing missing is 3D. For ease of use and breadth of features the C6730W is great value.
Price : £550

HARMAN KARDON BDS 800 – Best Audio-Visual Quality

This Harman Kardon made kit is reassuringly expensive. with slick design and performance to match. The BDS 800 offers clean, crisp HD audio with 65 watts per channel and tight bass from the 200W sub; the reproduction of audio detail shames cheaper systems. The HD visuals from the Blu-ray drive are similarly awesome. Concentrating on performance the BDS 800 offers little in the way of extra features beyond a USB port – there’s no media streaming. web access or HDMI inputs. You do get really great surround sound though.
Price £1,100

PANASONIC SC-BTT350 – Best for 3D Lovers

This 1,000W,5.1-channel system plays 2D and 3D Blu-rays with pristine picture quality and streams media wirelessly from any PC – albeit via an £80 dongle. It also offers online content. with YouTube and Picasa widgets on VieraCast.  There’s a built-in iPod dock, plus an SD card slot and digital audio input. There is however no HDMI and sound quality is disappointing – sharp,  shouty and lacking in bass punch. The basics seem to have been overlooked on this budget system and you won’t exactly fall in love with its clunky, boxy looks either.

TEUFEL IMPAQ 3000 – Best Build Quality

Teufel’s first Blu-ray system is a curious one with a surprisingly light spec list for £600. There’s no media streaming, internet access or 3D. Instead, what you pay for is the robust quality and design of the 5.1speaker system and connections, including two HDMls, a USB port and iPod dock. That’s no bad thing in theory, but the Impaq doesn’t deliver a £600 performance. The 600W speakers occasionally sound harsh and the150Wsubwoofer is too overpowering for them. These are flaws for which eBventhe brilliantly crisp lu-ray pictures can’t quite compensate.
Price £619

ONKYO BD-SP308, TX-SR608 AND OH BY TUTUNDO – Best high-End Options

And now for something completely different… We’ve teamed the mind·bogglingly pricey Oh by Tutundo 5.1 system with the more reasonably priced Onkyo SR608. an AV receiver with six HDMI inputs, and the BD-SP308 Btu-ray deck. The Oh’s five 80W. mic-stand-like speakers and beefy 200W sub suck every bit of detail from the SR608, providing detailed, powerful and finessed audio that all-in-ones ystems simply can’t compete with, The price tag reflects this. clearly.
Price £6,365

You bought an HDTV, but chances are you were disappointed because your local cable channels or DVDs just didn’t look as spectacular as the videos they were playing at the display centers. Or maybe you are just tired of the video quality of the content that you watch on your TV.
What you need is a HD media player. Until now, most good media players from reputable companies were around the Rs. 10,000 mark. But that has just changed. Because the Asus O!Play mini HD media player just rolled out.

Price:
Priced at a extremely reasonable Rs. 5,700, (may vary according to your location). Its one of the (if not THE cheapest) HD devices to be unveiled. Its simple and barebones, without the additional features on the expensive models that you don’t use anyway.

Here’s a quick rundown of it features:
Connectivity:
The Asus O!play Mini HD player has support for USB 2.0 and has a multi-format memory card reader. Lacks internal memory, but then again, if you’re going to be so choosy you can go to the higher price range players.
The USB port also lets you connect directly to any hard drive and enjoy the content on it without installing any drivers or anything.
Input Ports:
  • 1 x DC Power In
  • 1 x USB Port(s)
  • 1 x S/PDIF (Optical)
  • 4 -in-1 Card Readers ( SD/ MS/ xD/ MMC)
Output Ports:
  • Composite Video
  • Composite Audio L/R
  • S/PDIF Out (Optical)
  • HDMI 1.
Interface:
The interfaces for HD media devices aren’t known to be the most visually pleasing or smooth, but I’m glad its different on the O!play mini.
The interface is simple, easy to navigate, and has a low learning curve. It automatically generates icons for photos and provides a preview mode for video files.
When used for photos, O!Play Mini automatically scales the images to fit the screen’s format, allows you to rotate the image and even to adjust the color saturation.
Format Support and Performance:
The player supports literally everything thrown at it. It handles every format extremely well, which a very pleasant surprise since I wasn’t expecting such good support for a cheap end player.
While previous generation TV’s could used the analogical composite connection and stereo sound through RCA connection, LCD TV owners can use the HDMI 1.3 cable provided with the accessories in the box.
Its worth mentioning here that the device supports full 1080p / 60 HZ resolution. The HDMI port can also handle true high-definition 7.1 audio supporting playback of Blu-ray content. No frozen frames or The "Play, Unlimited!" tagline isn’t a marketing ploy after all.
Supported formats:
  • Video : MPEG1,MPEG2,MPEG4,RM,RMVB,VC-1,H.264
  • Video File Extension : TRP,MP4,MOV,Xvid,AVI,ASF,WMV,MKV,RMVB 720p,RMVB 1080p,FLV,TS,MTS,M2TS,DAT,MPG,VOB,ISO,IFO,M1V,M2V,M4V
  • Audio : MP3,WAV,AAC,OGG,FLAC,AIFF,Dolby Digital AC3,Dolby Digital Plus,DTS 2.0 +Digital out,Tag ID3
  • Image : JPEG,BMP,PNG,GIF
  • Subtitle : SRT,SUB,SMI,SSA,ASS,IDX,TXT
Conclusion:
It’s a no-frills media player for people who just want to play their video files without any fuss. Great worth for you money, highly recommended!
Where to buy online:
It’s available from Galaxy.com.pk.

Before you balk at the almost £700 price tag of this dual-tuner Freesat+ PVR, consider that the BS880E is also a Blu-ray recorder, and can stream your digital media via ethernet and DLNA. No, fair enough, it does still seem likea pretty balk-worthy price tag. Freesat provides subscription free TV via a satellite dish. You need a dual LNB as without it you’re stuck with using only one of the two tuners, and most flat dwellers will find their communal dish does NOT offer this facility.
With a dual feed you can record two shows at once, or watch one and record another, as well as pausing live TV for up to two hours. We picked up well over 130 channels, with three HD ones: BBC J HD, BBC HD and 1TV 1HD. Hi-def image quality is comparable to Sky and standard-def is pretty good 100, Thanks to an ethernet port you can access BBC iPlayer, with lTV Playe rto be added later this year.
Image quality is perfectly acceptable on a 42-inch TV,despite the fact that it streams in “High Quality” rather than true HD. You can also access Panasonic’s Viera Cast portal. with Twitter,Daily Motion and Accuweather apps. The 500GB PVRcan store up to 76hours of HD or 212 hours of SD. You can also archive footage on BD-RE or BD-R. Blu-ray imageand audio quality are excellent
However, although the build quality feels rock solid, the EPG is desperately old-fashioned and the box can be frustratingly sluggish. Given that, it’s hard to justify the luxury price of this Panasonic box.

An illuminated power button that changes color and a punchy digital display brighten up the otherwise solid, pedestrian look of the HDR-FOX T2. The no-nonsense/uninteresting design suits the T2, though. It plugs into your TV aerial and instantly offers around 50 Freeview channels including BBC HD, BBC1 HD, 1TV 1 HD and Channel 4 HD. The overall channel count is lower than Freesat, but the number of quality channels – ie not The Horror Channel+1 or “Adult Chat” – is much the same and you get one more HD option and access to Dave. Hi-def quality impresses, although standard-def doesn’t quite match its test rivals.
Dual tuners means you can record two channels at once or watch one and record another. There’s room for 300 hours of SD and 125hours of HD on the 500GB hard drive and you can pause live shows for up to two hours. What sets this box apart from lesser Freeview HD offerings is the new Humax Smart TV portal. It adds web TV-type functionality including BBC iPlayer, Flickr and Wikipedia browsing and internet radio streaming, with Sky Player following shortly; The T2 only includes an ethernet port; to connect to the Portal using Wi-Fi you’ll need to invest in a £29 dongle.
BBC iPlayer’s HD content streams with only minor initial stuttering on our 20MBconnection, but you can’t fast forward or rewind. You can record TV while roaming the Portal. Gifting a good range of sub-free HD shows and online, on-demand content, the T2 is a bargain.

irgin Media has come up trumps with its team-up with time shifting pioneers Tivo. The partnership has resulted in a PVR that’s visually reminiscent of the first-genPlayStation3,with green and red buttons on the front, and an overhauled user interface that places personal recommendations at the top of the EPG screen, meaning you don’t need to scroll to find content that suits you.
On launch the 1TB box will have dual tuners, with the third activated via an upgrade. Unique to Virgin Media is the built-in 10Mbps modem, so you get fast streaming, even of  1080p without slowing down your internet connection.
Signup to Virgin’s XL package and you get 160channels, including 17HD ones. Add Sky Movies and Sky Sports at £14.50 each, and that’s 29 HD channels for about the same price as Sky’s 66-channel HD package. Hmm. You do also get 4,600 hours of on-demand content, and Film flex has 500 movies ready for download at £3.75pel’ film, including30 HD(£4.99)and five3D titles (from £5.49).
Where the Virgin service earns its not inconsiderable fees is with bonus features. For instance, the box presents you with shows it thinks you will like this is a nice feature, but we haven’t been granted enough lime with the box to lest its accuracy over time. It’s all slickly integrated: the excellent episode guides flow to actor bios, where you can record other shows with the same actor.
With all the on-demand and HD content and a killer interface, the Virgin/Tivo service is hard to beat.  All you need add is a good internet connection, we believe Virgin are keen to flog you one of those, too.
