Canon PowerShot G1 X – If you are a photography lover, a word Canon should not be a strange word for you to recognize. Yes, Canon is a camera branding mark that is very popular in photography’s world. And now, Canon released their new pocket camera called Canon PowerShot G1 X. Why in the world that Canon released a pocket camera instead of mirrorless camera which is so happening these days? Well, we actually do not really know why but this Canon PowerShot G1 X has an extra big censor, actually, it really is big for a pocket camera that has an attached lenses. Canon PowerShot G1 X has an identical shape like the former one Powershot G12 but it indeed has a great deal of different in its censorship.
Canon PowerShot G1 X even has a bigger body than most of mirrorless camera. If we have a look at the censorship size of Canon PowerShot G1 X, it has a bigger one than Four Thirds of Olympus and Panasonic. It actually has a little bit smaller than APS-C censor which is 1.5 inch diagonal. As a camera with an attached lenses, the Canon PowerShot G1 X maker have to fight harder to look for the best combination between the size and also the focal of the lenses especially on its aperture. It might be because of the small censor that a pocket camera usually have so that it might be harder to keep it great with that big censor size of a pocket camera.
This big censor size of Canon PowerShot G1 X brings positive and negative effect. The positive side is clearly that the result of your image capturing will be clear from noise at all with the usage of a greater ISO like a usual DSLR camera. It looks like Canon really wanted to show to the world that if they wanted to make a great image capturing, they do not have to buy a DSLR or a mirrorles camera and then invest through a various kind of expensive lenses.

Made from light magnesium alloy, the NEX-5N is just 23.3mm at the slimmest point and includes the same quick shutter lag as found on the new NEX-7. With a release time lag of just 0.02 seconds, it is the fastest in the world. An improved autofocus algorhythm doubles the readout speed from the image sensor and results in an AF that is significantly faster than the current NEX-5 model.
The Sony NEX-5N has a 10fps continuous shooting mode just like its bigger brother, comes with a touch-enabled 3in LCD screen and packs a upgraded BIONZ processor that can ramp the ISO up to 25,600.
Due for release later next month, we are yet to hear a confirmed pricetag for the new NEX-5N but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, for those of you who have been interested in Sony’s NEX line up, here’s how the NEX-5N stacks up against its predecessor NEX-5 (courtesy of Dpreview):

Trying to find a great HD webcam, but don’t like to spend a lot of cash? The $39.95 Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 tries to provide a great deal of the same high-definition goodness as the LifeCam Studio ($99, 4 stars), but at less than half the price. For the basics, the HD-3000 works, though in case your laptop already have one built-in, this webcam isn’t a reasonable upgrade.
To start using it, you will need Windows 7, Vista, or XP (with Service Pack 2), and at least a dual-core Intel PC running at 1.6GHz or higher. 720p video requires a 3GHz dual-core Intel PC and 2GB of RAM. As with all of Microsoft webcams, the HD-3000 combines with Windows Live apps; the installer asks you to install Windows Live Messenger, Photo Gallery, and Movie Maker. For this review, I stuck with the included Microsoft LifeCam software. For video calling, the HD-3000 works with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and Skype, you will only getting VGA resolution (640-by-480-pixel) all over video calls, however.
The included LifeCam apps is easy to work with. A slide-out holder on the right has a bunch of live video effects and many of configurable settings. The 3D effects are cute, but ultimately worthless; in my exams, switching any of them on triggered a several-second lag between my action and the video response, despite my test system’s Intel Core i7 PC’s high-end AMD Radeon HD 5870 video card. The Configuration settings page is very useful: Here you can easily adjust brightness, photo as well as camcorder resolution, microphone volume, image flicker, and digital zoom adjustments (such as most webcams, there’s no optical zoom). There are application pan and tilt controls, but because there are no actual motors on the HD-3000, the settings only work if you have already zoomed in digitally. You will be able to record 16:9 widescreen video in 720p for up to 30 frames per second and also share it via Messenger, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Regarding audio, the Lifecam provides a built-in, uni-directional noise-canceling microphone. An examination video clip recording confirmed that the noise suppression fails to work properly; an office fan was heard clearly on the background during the whole recording. And also, the audio was a bit distorted at the default configurations, even though I do not speak out very loudly and kept about two feet away from the microphone. Switching down input obtain helped with the noise issues.
