If you’ve got the T-Mobile G2x (ie, the LG Optimus 2X), you’ll be pleased to hear that T-Mobile has officially announced their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to its LG G2x customers. This is great news as the handset originally came only with Froyo – Android 2.2. The update includes the following enhancements, one of which is better battery life, a feature all Android phones could benefit from.
T-Mobile confirmed the update is rolling out over the air (OTA) now, but you should be able to manually check for the software by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update. We heard early reports that some G2x users were experiencing a lot of bugs with their devices so we hope this update fixes most, if not all of them.
- Improved battery life
- Improved front-facing camera operation when using Qik record and share
- Improved disabling Car Home
- Helps address unexpected reboots.
