Announced in a statement, Google+ Product Manager, Christian Oestlien said that Google team is working to incorporate business features in Google+.
Google+ Product Manager, Christian Oestlien said:
How users communicate with each other is different from how they communicate with brands, and we want to create an optimal experience for both. We have a great team of engineers actively building an amazing Google+ experience for businesses, and we will have something to show the world later this year.So from here Google has asked users not to create business profiles for their brands or companies as they may get deleted considering the fact that at the moment only profiles with original persons are accepted. Just like Facebook, where you cannot create a profile in the name of a brand, entity or organization but to create separate page for that.
Google has asked that such profiles may get deleted so be sure to hold on meanwhile Google+ comes up with business features.
“The business experience we are creating should far exceed the consumer profile in terms of its usefulness to businesses. We just ask for your patience while we build it. In the meantime, we are discouraging businesses from using regular profiles to connect with Google+ users. Our policy team will actively work with profile owners to shut down non-user profiles”, Oestlien said.Oestlien further revealed (video embedded at the end) that Google is conducting some test on brand oriented accounts by welcoming different marketing partners to come and create their sample business profiles. So non-users entities can apply for Google+ Entity Program meanwhile the company launches it officially.
After the official launch, these test profiles will be retired.
You can apply for your business, organization, team etc to check and experience how Google+ Business will work, here http://goo.gl/zq95C
It merits mentioning here that we are witnessing a large shift from Facebook to Google+ and people really want this business thing ASAP. As mentioned above, Google has asked users to put a hold on creating business profiles.
So the war between Google+ and Facebook continues and we still have to wait till the official business thing hits the market. Will brands and companies transfer their Pages from Facebook to Google+ Business? Even if they do, will fans make a shift too?
