Samsung has released two new laptops in its R-Series entertainment range. The RF711features Intel’s high-performance Sandy Bridge technology, while the RC710 settles for a more modest – but still satisfyingly nippy – Core is processor.
Both laptops feature nVidia GeForce graphics cards, which should provide strong graphical performance. They also support nVidia’s Optimus technology, which saves power by deactivating the graphics card when not in use.
Each model comes fitted with a 17.3-inch display and 1600 x 900 pixel resolution. The RF711has a Blu-ray drive, so you can enjoy the latest movies in glorious HD, while the RC710has an integrated DVD drive.
Both machines boast excellent connectivity, with 802.11n Wi-Fi providing speedy wireless networking and the latest Bluetooth technology on board to pair your laptop with compatible devices. The RF711also supports USB3.0 for fast data transfer when backing up your data.
As we went to press, Samsung had yet to confirm prices for the RF711and RC71O.
